Nicholas Roerich was the Russian writer, public figure, painter, philosopher, theosophist and popular youth figure. He was born in 1874 in the Russia of  Saint Petersburg, he was popular public figure. Till death, he lived at many places from Russia to Naggar in the Himachal Pradesh. The museum of Nicholas Roerich is the iconic amd main tourist destination which is center of attraction in full Manali. As Nicholas Roerich was Russian artist who arrived in the region of Himalayas after 1917 revolution , and died in 1947. In himachal, he married to Devika Rani and Art Gallery of Nicholas Roerich  was actually founded in the year of 1962 by Svetoslav Roerich, who was the son of Nicholas Roerich.That building which was built by his son, is the main Art gallery and in past it was actually residence of Nicholas Roerich. 

 

Now government of himachal pradesh had raised so many funds to run this gallery, and it is also known as Roerich Heritage Museum. You can see beautiful paintings of Spiti, Kullu and Manali. Huge number of worked Art are preserved in this Museum. A private room of artist's have been maintained in the upper floor of  museum.
