At a meagre distance of 3 kilometers from the Manali Bus Stand, the Manu Temple is devoted to the Indian sage Manu and is situated at old Manali.
Manali is named after a sage called Manu who used to meditate here and was known to be the originator of human race on earth according to the Hindu mythology. Manu Temple is undoubtedly one of the finest Manali tourist places. Travelers tend to love the astounding views of the neighboring hills and the pious river Beas from the temple. Lying in the crowded region of old Manali, the temple is time and again visited by the tourists arriving from different parts of the world. Manu Temple was built in pagoda style of architecture and was yet again rebuilt in the year 1992 when the domed ceiling and marble floors were added to it. One can also find an assortment of artifacts and idols of gods and goddesses in different postures.
To be able to reach the temple, one has to cross the greasy stone paths of old Manali for near about 200 meters. This old temple is a very well-known place of worship amongst the local people of Manali who turn up everyday to extend their prayers to the sage Manu.Travelers are advised to wear dresses that cover their knees and shoulders when inside the temple.
